Yes! This year we can finally wheel the great state trails on Drummond Island.
Come out and join us. This is a family friendly get together. Bring the kids.
Some of the things to look forward to:
Snowman building on Marblehead
Hot chocolate and doughnuts on shale beach
Fun with old friends
Making new friends
This is not a super organized official run like the spring run. Just friends getting together to have some fun, however there will be lightly organized trail runs on the state trails. If you have never been there, don't worry. Just follow along with one of our experienced trail leaders.
There is no cost to join this weekend. Just your lodging and food and that stuff.
Trail Rides
At this point, plans include a full day of trail riding on Friday, and a full day of riding on Saturday. Sunday pack up and head home. Trails will be all on the state ORV Route, however there is a possibility that we could hit Turtle Ridge for a bit.
Rides will leave from the parking area across from the Drummond Resort.
Rig Specs
Well, you never know in Michigan. This could be a stocker run or it could be a 35's and lockers run. Depends on how much snow we have by then. I do suggest that you need front and rear tow points and good, not bald tires. No one likes to be held up by a vehicle that has no business on the trail, so use your common sense. I hate to be a jerk but if you show up with a stock Dakota on bald street tires and no tow points....You need to find another ride.
As always, body damage and broken parts are very common and somewhat expected.
LODGING
Lodging will be left up to you. Stay where you would like.
Many will be getting together in cabins at Papins Resort http://www.papinsresort.com/
I will post up info as soon as I get a return call from them. The Big Pine cabin can sleep 13 people. I will be reserving that for a group to split the cost.
Some may choose to stay at the Drummond Resort http://www.drummondisland.com/
Feel free to call them and make reservations.
