Weekend of the 25-26th. Heading down Thursday the 23nd and leaving Sunday morning Feb 26th. It is roughly a 10 hour drive with a trailer down there from the Detroit area. Take I-75 south then jog over east about 70 miles.

We will be camping at Harlan County Campground which is on the north side, the Putney Trailhead. I am renting a Cabin for the weekend, but there is RV access and tent sites. The campground is directly on the trailhead, so once you unload, you don't need to drive the road to access the trails.

I'm not trying to find anything too rough down there, maybe trails ranging from 2-3, I'd like to see the area and take out my brother-in-law for his first Jeep trip.

If you had a vehicle on 32's+ I'd say you'd be fine. I have never been down there before, so you would know as much as me!!

Just an informal gathering of people. Wheelin' for a few days, maybe even get a guide from the local clubs to show us around. I've talked with a few down there and everyone couldn't be nicer! Maps of the trails are available at the campground.

There are also some mines and stuff in the area in case your significant other doesn't want to wheel the whole time!

Juliet: Can you carry me upside down to bed?!

But my wife gets winter break in February! So, I can take her down there, she takes off with her sister to shop and sight see for a few days/week and I get my brother-in-law to ride shotgun!

The way I look at it Tim is there are WAY to few places we go to WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to often. The place in Canada is with a friend I've known for many years. They hosted the United run there back in 2002 if memory serves me correctly. We went to a place called Bobcaygen where they hosted the Jeep Jamboree for many years. They have a great rapport with the MNR and they've been allowed to develop challenging trails for their use only. Last time we did Green Mountain. Great trail only a mile or so long, took almost 4 hours. With some of the more capably vehicles around now...JohnnyJ and 95Geo and others could be less of a challenge. However, Henry assured me we would not be dissapointed.
My thought now is to recruit some of the outspoken / active members and help them to host/coordinate events at least every other month.
Something we'll talk about @ the Board meeting next weekend. If you can make it that would be great.

Can't make the board meeting but i'll be at the other meeting. I would be willing to go over the bridge just about any time to scout trails. I'll be over there quite a bit this year leading up to GG. Just picked up a quad also so i'll be doing trail running with that and the jeep.

If I'm not mistaken Tim......I believe Jim's talking about hopping over that OTHER bridge to Canada!

You know......that one down on the OTHER end of the state......where all of the people are!!!!
