    Default New old guy

Hello all, Old Bill here. I recently retired from GM with 38 years service. Although I was a skilled trades Experimental Auto Builder since the late 70s, I was a full time union rep since 1993. I was quite involved with jeeps during the 80s and had several CJ5s until the early 90s when I sold out nearly everything and only just recently picked up a 1998 TJ with a broken piston. The motor has been pulled and the block has been sent out for hot tank and cam bearings, the head is being freshened, and new pistons are being hung. Can't wait until I get her back together and down a few trails. I live in North Branch and also love to fish and hunt. I've got three young grandkids, and I know they will all love the jeep too. My other hobbie has been riding motorcycles, I've had many both dirt and road bikes, and just less than 3 weeks ago I tangled with a mini-van over in Grand Rapids. Still quite sore with cracked ribs and fractured vertebrae that are keeping me on light duty at the present time.

Welcome! Looking forward to meeting you on the trails with the Jeep! I've done a lot of riding as well. I'm currently bikeless though, but I'm thinking next year I will have to buy another. I've been in some wrecks though. They suck!

    Get well soon!

    Howdy! Welcome to the forum!

I'm a former bike rider.........also tangled with a mini van last summer. I'm lucky to be alive, and will suffer the effects for the rest of my life. So I gave up the 2-wheelers!

Hope to meet up with you out on the trails some time!
