‘Ask the DNR’ to Air April 9 on CMU Public Television

Residents of the northern Lower Peninsula will be able to have their questions on natural resources issues addressed by professionals with the Department of Natural Resources when Central Michigan University Public Broadcasting hosts the television program “Ask the DNR” on Thursday, April 9, at 8 p.m.

This one-hour edition of “Ask the DNR” will be hosted by Bob Garner, a former member of the Michigan Natural Resources Commission and former executive producer and host of the Michigan Out-of-Doors television show. Garner will be joined by DNR Law Enforcement Division Assistant Chief Dean Molnar, DNR Wildlife Supervisor Tim Reis from the Gaylord Operations Service Center, Conservation Officer Bobbi Bashore and DNR Fish Biologist Mark Tonello from the Cadillac Operations Service Center.

In addition to calling the program’s toll-free number 800-727-9268, the public also can e-mail questions to “Ask the DNR” prior to the broadcast. Viewers should use the title of the show as the subject line and e-mail questions to Brian Baker, the show’s producer, at baker1bd@cmich.edu.

The “Ask the Specialists” series airs Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. on CMU Public Television, offering viewers access to a variety of professions each week. CMU Public Broadcasting serves central and northern Michigan with a variety of news, public affairs, educational and entertainment programs on both TV and radio. The CMU Public Television network includes WCML, Channel 6, Alpena; WCMU, Channel 14, Mt. Pleasant; WCMW, Channel 21, Manistee; WCMV, Channel 27, Cadillac; Channel 46 in Traverse City and Channel 69 in Leland, as well as digital stations WCMU-DT, Channel 56, Mt. Pleasant; WCML-DT, Channel 57, Alpena; WCMV-DT, Channel 17, Cadillac and WCMW-DT, Channel 58, Manistee.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state’s natural resources for current and future generations.

May I admit my confusion...are we to call Mary Dettloff 517-335-3014 and ask to have this Broadcast over other Television Stations in addition to that which is posted above?

What about compiling a list of questions with slight wording changes, than submitted by more than one in order to try and improve the likelihood of getting an answer?

I suppose you could if you really wanted it broadcast somewhere else.
