I was wondering what this really is. is it just that peat stuff you use in gardens or is it made for oil dry use?

Peat moss that you get in stores has a high % content of moisture. With the moisture in it, it will not absorb the hydrocarbon base oils. It won't pick up the oil. The Peat Sorb is specially dried.

we use the stuff at work. it soaks up everything but water. something about how its dried prevents water from being re absorbed. plus its really light to carry as compaired to clay based absorbants. last I knew were buying the stuff in roll and bag form

GLFWDA is purchasing it in compressed 4 Cu ft bales and dividing it out into containers of about 1.5 gallon size jugs. Working with Jarhead on acquiring a viable jug size to package it in. Right now the jug available from PeatSorb sells for $20. With doing the packaging work ourselves we hope to get it down to $15 or lower depending on what we can get arranged for the jug costs.
We currently have a variety of sizes from 3 quart ziplock bags @ $5.00 to 5 gallon pales @ $35 and numerous sizes in between.

Question: Once it's used, it has to be picked up, if I'm understanding it correctly. Then where can it be taken for disposal?

Great idea for off road runs. I'm going to suggest it to our club out west here to have on hand. Bashed oil pans are not uncommon out here.
