MichiganWheelers
Brings You
The Drummond Island Invasion
2009
May 15, 16, 17
Details being worked out. Info on lodging will be posted when finalized.
Lodging at the Drummond Island Resort.
Tentative plans are as follows:
Friday, May 15:
Groups will head out from the resort.
If there is interest (and a max of 19 people)....One group will head out and be led to Marble Head and run parts of the new ORV Route to get there. This run would be suitable for stock or lightly modified rigs as well as anyone that wants a trail ride, a chance at the Marble Head steps, a look at Shale Beach and a look at some of the new ORV Route being laid down. It is a trail ride with slight climbs, bumps, small rocks, trees and mud. Depending on the weather there may be some deeper water crossings and as always, there is a chance of mechanical or body damage.
The other group will head over to Turtle Ridge Off Road Park for the day. Some of the best legal wheeling on natural terrain open to the public in Michigan. Large Rocks, deep mud, tight trees, off camber, climbs. This place offers just about everything.
Lunch is on the trail.
Dinner to be determined. (We'll pick a spot to meet)
Evening in the Lodge Room around the fireplace at the resort for socialization and picture viewing. A large screen and projector will be provided.
Saturday, May 16:
All rigs head out to Turtle Ridge Off Road Park for a day of heavy wheeling.
Lunch on the trail.
Dinner to be determined. (We'll pick a spot to meet)
Evening in the Lodge Room around the fireplace at the resort for socialization and picture viewing. A large screen and projector will be provided.
Awards will be presented.
What's the cost?
There is no cost to join us. There is, however a limit of about 30 rigs.
