OK, I get 5 with the motorhome, pulling the jeep in an enclosed trailer, up hill against the wind. The rest of the time I do better.

    You're doing good.

i get 14.5 on average at 70. i have gotten as bad as 12.5 and as good as 16.5. thats on 35" tires.

the way i see it, the money i save on fuel getting there pays for my hotel room!

This post is really making me think if I need to go back to the good old days of having no tow rig, and sleeping under the stars (or at least in the back of the truck)

When I first got the Hummer I was getting 12 mpg. After changing to a Performance Airfilter/Intake, Cat-Back Exhaust; MAF Sensor; Hypertech Programmer (which I tweaked this way and that for about a year and a half) I was getting 19 mpg.

Now, will I get a return on my investment – probably not – but than again I have no intention of getting rid of it, so who knows?

But truthfully, what’s the point? No matter how good or how bad one’s mileage is, it is a commodity of which it would be difficult to do without. I calculate every now and than simply to ensure my vehicles are performing well but I don’t get wrapped up in the numbers anymore.

Then again, I was paying $2.50 for 108 Octane in the late sixties for my GTO. So, my past is simply catching up to me as I slow down…
