Silver Lake Sand Dunes

The Silver Lake Sand Dunes are on the west side of Michigan.
You do not need a built rig to run the dunes. Stock 4x4s of all kinds can get around the dunes very well. The dunes are large hills of sand. The dunes will change from day to day depending on the wind, so there is always something new to explore. The dunes will let you drive out to the beach of Lake Michigan (but note it is not legal to drive in the lake). The view from the dunes is beautiful.

Any idea how long the silver lake dunes remain open? Do they close like say around october, or when the snow starts to fly? I'm rebuilding a jeep, and really want to try it out on the dunes. Just don't know how long they stay open this year. Any information would be helpful. thanks.

The dunes close at the end of October and open the first of April.
