    Wow. What a shame.

I had a similar incident last year in Canada. I brushed up against a dead tree and the top 3-4 ft came down and hit my windshield frame. Thankfully it was rotted and broke apart when it hit. But if it had come thru my soft top I am sure it would have hurt.

    What a shame.

Sympathy out to his family and friends.

Had a similar incident about ten years ago, while wheeling in Tenn..
Driving on a shelf road along a river, I had heard a crunching sound,
thinking to myself, "I didn't see any debree in the road", I looked
in the rear view mirror, to see a tree top with an eight inch butt
crash to the road a few feet behind the Bronco!
It had slid off the cliff from an old logging operation high above.
Coasting along about 5mph, had I applied the brake even slightly,
that thing would have crashed atop the Bronco.
