Hey Great Lakes Members!
Just an update from our monthly EBOD (Executive Board of Directors) meeting today! This meeting was our semi-annual 'face-to-face' meeting where we all meet at a central location (Lansing this time!). As effective as the call-in or teleconference meetings are, sometimes you just have to sit across from your peers to get stuff done!!
And did we ever 'get stuff done' today!!
We had an excellent turnout for the meeting with all of the EBOD members present, six committee chairs & members, and two club presidents in attendance.
The biggest news is a number of personnel changes, as follows:
- Vice President: Dale Stroebel
- Recording Secretary: Mary Jo Airo
- Membership Secretary: Kari Dunlap
- Boondocker Editor: Mike Timm
We want to take this moment to sincerely thank Michelle Borgeson & Ed Schroeder for their outstanding and faithful years of service!!! We wish them success & good fortune in all their future endeavors!!
The Association is making good progress towards bringing our membership management system up to current standards, and integrating that into an e-mail system which will provide the Association a much more robust capability to stay in touch with our membership base.
Our membership is strong and financials healthy.
From 50,000 feet here's what else we discussed:
- Fall Quarterly Membership Meeting next week at Rocks 'n Valleys; we will be doing our annual officer elections at that meeting with the President's and Treasurer's positions being elected.
- We will be in attendance at the Jeep Creep event in Gladwin. If you'd like to stop by and help out at the GLFWDA tent we'd love to have you!
- Land Use Committee issues: the Oakland County Park and various DNR trail usage proposals.
And that's the "Cliff's Notes" overview of what we did today! Hope to see as many of you as possible at next week's Fall Quarterly Membership Meeting!
Mike Olmstead
President, GLFWDA.
