    Default December 2017 EBOD Update

    Hey Great Lakes Members!

The Exec Board just wrapped up their last EBOD meeting of 2017 last evening, and we want to pass along two important thoughts:
First: Thank you all for your support, participation, and membership this past year!
And second: We wish you all a very pleasant, fruitful, and peaceful Holiday Season!!

OK! On to a quick recap of what we covered tonight!

Probably the most important topic is that we have two key chairpersons expressing a desire to step down after serving faithfully for a number of years. Ed Schroeder, Editor - Boondocker, and Eric Culling, Trail Maintenance Coordinator, have both expressed a desire that it is time for each of them move on to other endeavors. A sincere thanks to both Ed & Eric for all that they've done for the Association!

Either of these two positions are excellent opportunities for someone looking to step up their support and participation in the Association. If you're interested and are looking for more information shoot me an e-mail at president@glfwda.org and I'll get you started!

Please put Jan 19, 2018 on your calendar for the 2018 Winter Quarterly meeting in West Branch, MI at the Quality Inn in conjunction with the annual Sno-Fari even. We will hold the Quarterly Membership Meeting at 5:00 PM at the Inn.

With regard to the Oakland County ORV Park, Jim Kitson indicates that there is nothing new to report at this moment. Both Jim and the GLFWDA EBOD were more than pleased with the turnout for the 12/6 meeting at the Oakland County Parks & Rec monthly board meeting, but Jim was also quick to point out that '...it’s one little step on a very big ladder'. Thanks again to all who turned out for that meeting!

For the clubs doing trail maintenance, trail maintenance reimbursement checks will be mailed before the end of the year.

And as far as the boiler plate things go, membership is hovering just under 400 still and financials are strong!!

Again, hope you all have a great 2017 wrap-up and super 2018 roll-out!!!

    Thanks for the update.

RE the Oakland County Park, yes the turnout was AWESOME! And it definitely made a difference. Inside scuttlebutt is that there is a renewed enthusiasm inside the county park office and they are not sitting on their hands.

Thanks to those that do all the hard work.
