What exactly are the rules for the St Helens area? Can we go anywhere we want? ATV trails? Can we plow over small trees and make new trails?

I was up there this weekend and since I only had 4 jeeps in my group I was able to explore some and it seems that there are large areas on St. Helens area with no trails. I saw a few places that might be worthy of exploration and was wondering just what is legal. It seems like theres lots of room for more trails there.

Per discussions I have had with Pat, it is a scramble area, which means that cross country travel is allowed. We had talked about trying to make a trip up this fall to do just what you are suggesting.
So far, we have not had time........

Thats what I was thinking. Let me know if you plan something. I'd like ot go blaze some trails. I ran my GPS while running what was there so I have part of the area mapped out. I'd like to continue doing that. I have some ideas for area to explore. I saw a few places where there might have been some old trails that had grown over.

Oh and another question... Is that area always open or are there some type of "hours of operation"

Since I am not a hunter, I would like to go up mid October.
Let's talk at the quarterly.

By the way Bruce, will you be at GG? We could talk there.

I'm still hoping to make it to GG but I've got lots of work to do before them and not much time. I've got 2 axles to swap in.

Bruce, you gotta go to GG................you already paid.

I'd like to explore/make trails up in St. Helens.....Its a good area that just needs some help. Can't wait for the rocks up there, if they ever get there. :<img src=:" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
