No - this meeting is to go over any changes in the trail maintenance grant process, paperwork, weaknesses in trail maintenance from last years inspections, etc.

But - DNR staff will be there, and at least one (if not all 3) trail techs will be there. This would be a good opportunity to have a chat with Paige or Amy before or after the meeting. Specifically on Pinball Alley, the approval was contingent on us getting a grant (they specified from Tread Lightly, but not sure where they got that from?) and re-mediating the wet spot(s) on Meridian Rd from the MSA south to the freeway, plus the wet spot on the trail itself. Last fall Amy and I discussed her getting a professional contractor to bid the job out - partly so we could review the bid to help with our own proposal and partly because she thought she might have some Special Maintenance grant money to use. I have asked a couple of times for a progress report, but have not received one. My concern (and I think all of us share it) is that if they hire a contractor there will be a road graded and paved by a D-5 over to the wet spots along with a 12' wide path of destruction.

I think that we have a conflict on the dates so I won't be able to make it, but will pass it along to the club.

I am in the same boat, Jeff - when it was a weekday evening in Lansing I could do it, but no chance with their recent day/time/location choices.

I had hoped to work my schedule around to attend this workshop (as it has been a couple of years since I attended one) to hear what their thoughts are as to changing out the confidence markers with the carsonite markers. It is my understanding the Trail Sponsors are entitled to additional monies for the installation and need to work with their Trail Tech to submit the grant request.
