2014 ORV Preseason Workshop (aka trail maintenance workshop)

Hi All: It is that time of the year again when we start planning our preseason workshops. Our plan is to have two workshops this year, one in the Marquette area and the other at the RAM center near Roscommon. For those of you that may be interested in attending I would like to get your feedback on what you would like us to cover and if a Saturday or weekday works best for your attendance.

As of now we have identified several topics such as trail maintenance, sign updates, grant paperwork, legislative update and MDOT ROW’s. If any of these topics are of interest please let me know and if you have any other topics you would like to see covered feel free to mention that as well.

Your feedback is very much appreciated it will help us make this an informative and productive workshop so please send your ideas and preference on day of the week at your earliest convenience.

If you have a preference as to a weekday or Saturday, let me know and I will pass it along to Rob. As with the last few years, a weekday or Saturday in Roscommon doesn't work for me (I could usually pull off the weekday in Lansing, but that's not part of the program) so it would be helpful if one or more of our Trail Maintenance volunteers could make the meeting and report back to the rest of us.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide clear, concise information to assist you with your trail work responsibilities, and to further open communications between groups. We will review grant and trail maintenance related documents and procedures to help ensure your success as grant sponsors. Also, we will inform you on current initiatives in the state and provide updates that affect the ORV program and its users. These discussions are geared to clubs and sponsors.

This is scheduled LATE this year... I know in the past we have done this in March or early April before the Maintenance season began. We have our trail maintenance scheduled that weekend so not sure if we can attend.
