Default 1020 Unanimously Passes Senate Transportation Committee

The REVISED Bill SB1020 (Version"S-1") was unanimously passed by Committee and referred to the Senate Floor. GLFWDA, CCC, MMRC, and MUCC were all in attendance to voice our support of the Bill's passage. MAC (Michigan Association of Counties) also supported the Bill (it's nice to have friends).

The Senate has been asked to act upon the Bill within the week. If passed, there is then a mandatory 5 day wait before it is sent to the House, where it will surely be referred to their appropriate Committee. If all goes well, we will see that happen Tuesday week after next; just enough time to get it passed by the full House before they recess for Christmas. Gotta love Lame Duck sessions!

    Here's a link to follow SB1020:

Please note that the REVISED S-1 Version of the Bill is NOT listed yet, but know that "at the last minute" a substitute for the original Bill was introduced that included our liability protection language and our 75 vehicle Event Permit trigger language.
