Thumbs up Survey for Wisconsin ORV Park

Attention OHV enthusiasts in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa and Illinois.

Ripon College is conducting a market survey to determine the feasibility of establishing a large off-road vehicle park in Forest County in northern Wisconsin. The potential park would be approximately 10,000 acres with trails and facilities for off-highway motorcycles, ATVs, ROVs (side by sides) and 4WD vehicles. The park would have areas for all skill levels of riders, including children.

The purpose of the survey is to determine the potential demand for such a facility and preferred customer amenities. The survey will take less than 3 minutes of your time and is conducted by SurveyMonkey. Your input will influence the decision to build this park.

Too bad they don't have a couple of the answers I'd prefer to give.
I'd rather see ALL the land used for wheeling opportunities; no camping. Let the surrounding communities supply and profit from that type of non-wheeling activity.

I have concerns that these offroad parks will eventually become the death for access to offroad trails and roads. I can see the states providing a few of these areas and then at some point telling folks this is all you get. Just my thoughts.

While I share your sentiment of OHV Parks to a point, the very fact that the law has required the establishment of a OHV Scramble Area in South East Michigan since 1974 and it remains nothing more than a bullet point on the DNR Master Plan; it would appear Michigan does not have that view point.

The reality of our existing system is shared by so many that are enjoying their sport separate from those of us who simply ride.

I'm not a park wheeler, like rocks, I've done it a few times and it really never excited me or the family. Guess that's why we only do Silver Lake once a year and it's more of a family & friends reunion than a wheeling trip. We have way more fun meandering about various trails that take us somewhere (or the middle of nowhere) new rather than around a couple hundred acres of over congested trails that just go back out to an exit gate.

Is it public land or private?
I agree with Trail fanatic that local businesses will take of amenities (motels, gas etc...)
