Default Looking for trails near Charlevoix/Boyne City

I'm heading up north with a few of my Jeep buddies and we're staying with family in Charlevoix/Boyne City area and hoping to find some trails to do some 4-wheeling. Does anyone know of any good trails anywhere near that area, maybe in the Gaylord State Forest, Indian River, Gaylord or Mancelona? I know there is an ORV Route near there, but it looks like it's just back roads and I'm hoping to find something a little more fun. I don't mind driving a reasonable distance to get to the trails, I just need to have enough time to get back to our place at night.

Perhaps DustyXJ or Bluejay will chime in/PM you with suggestions in their area?

un-fortunately, most of the good stuff is illegal.... they did open a new offroad park in Mancelona just this year... I haven't been there yet, but might be worth a look. hills 'n' thrills I believe it is. The orv route by indian river it just sandy twotracks. If you hear of anywhere, I might be willing to tag along I'm right in boyne city.

Really, in Mancelona? That's where my family is from, I'll have to check into that. Meeting up would be cool, we're always looking for some new trails and people to 4 wheel with. Heading up either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. I'll keep you posted after I confirm with some others.

I just looked it up and it's next to my family's property. Too funny.
