Take a look at some of the old Boondockers which you should be able to see online. There are articles that might be of interest in the Summer 2006 and Fall 2007 issues.
There is information in...
Welcome. I like your choice of vehicle.
I've been doing a bit of testing and exploring on the computer, but none with the GPS unit. I'm embarrased to say I have misplaced my Garmin 12MAP GPS unit. When I lose my cell phone, I can call it...
I ordered it, it was delivered promptly, and I am very impressed.
I haven't loaded it to my Garmin yet. I've just been digging through it with MapSource on a couple of different computers.

Easygps says that it will talk to a Magellan Explorist 500.
You want files in GPX format (file ends with .gpx) for the tracks to load in.

TWay,
So sorry to hear about your accident.
It sounds like it will be a slow and painful recovery.
The bright spot is that it is a recovery.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are...
Drop me a PM with your email address, and I will send you some files.
Any particular formats that you don't want? I have a variety including GDB (MapSource), DMT (DeLorme exchange), GPL (DeLorme...
Very much a well deserved and earned award.
Congratulations !!!
Let me see what I can dig up.

Then you...

Please pass along my get well wishes.
I have her in my prayers.
I just have to butt in here and ask a few questions.
What software are you using to do the printing, and what format is the information captured in?
What choices do you have for output...

Don't pay that kind of money for Ozi.
Try it out with the free downloads and then buy it directly from the...
Very impressive.
I hope you don't mind if some of those ideas show up on mine.
DeLorme does not have topo for North America or Canada, just U.S.
Garmin, however, does have a MapSource for Canada. And you should be able to use nRoute with any MapSource product to provide the...
Hey Muddy Paws,
How do you fasten the laptop upside down?
Does the ToughBook have threaded openings on the bottom to use?
My new Dell Inspiron E1405 doesn't have any way to really grab...
The GPS sends the position signal to the laptop over the communication port. USB, RS-232, whatever. You have to be running some mapping software with "moving map" capability on the laptop.
Some...
