We are staying at the Best Western Dune View Resort, and make sure you tell them you are with GL when you make your reservation. The rooms are buy one night get one free, so make sure and get there Friday night!
[/b]

I checked out the following web site to get some contact information for making my reservation:

http://www.bestwesternmichigan.com/reservations.html

But, I couldn't find the "Best Western Dune View Resort". The closest Best Western to Silver Lake Dunes was Best Western Scenic Hill Resort in Beulah. I haven't been to the West side of the State in a good many years, so how about some contact information, like a phone number, for us less informed?

(If it is posted else where, I missed it.) :bigemo_harabe_net-174:

I have a funny feeling that Great Lakes will be the only folks at the Hotel that weekend :bigemo_harabe_net-59:

Updated info on April Mtg.

Hi Jim:

I apologize for my delay in returning your e-mail. We were on vacation and
returned yesterday (we went to warmer climates!).

I'm glad the group gave the green light to holding the GLFWDA April event at
the Dunes Waterfront. I'll put a hold on a block of rooms for April 7 & 8
and look forward to hearing from people beginning in March. During March we
are near the phones Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. I'll
also mail you a contract for the use of the conference room. What address
should I mail that to?

You are welcome to use the beach Saturday night. We do not have a fire pit
in place, but you are welcome to bring your own. Our insurance company
requires the pit be up off of the sand. You can have alcoholic beverages on
the beach. Quiet time begins at 11:00 PM, but if people are quiet, we'll
extend that...it kind of depends on the noise level, and if we receive any
complaints.

Thanks Jim!

Wow, thats cool. Sounds like she is willing bend the rules a little if we behaive..........which I know we will. I'm not 100% sure I'll be there, but I have one of those copper fire bowls I can bring. Its sits on a stand thats about 18"-24" off the ground.

If we want to go down to the Sate park campground we can get the pavilion which has a great fireplace and a roof in case it rains. It is within walking distance from the hotel!

Should we do an organized reservation call so they don't get inundated on March 1 by all of us calling separately?

It says here she is saving us a block of rooms, so we should be alright! After being slow and lonely all winter she might enjoy the phone calls :rolf:

will there be room enough for trailer parking? at the resort?

Creative Fab
March 1st, 2006, 09:16 AM
Yes, they have room for trailers!

I have had my 40'er in their lot, it was tight but doable.

My wife just reserved a room at the "resort" . It is buy one night , get one night free but there was no special discount and 165.00 a night is by no means cheap . She did get a room with 2 queens and lake view but my god am I funding the spring cleaning of the place ? . Perhaps the gentleman who took the reservation is not aware of any Gl discount ??.

Creative Fab

I just reserved my room on the water side and it was $135 and came with a whirlpool.

And I told her I was with GL but I dont think she cared.

I got 2 queen beds ...one for me and one for my wife and 3 kids :) that maybe why mine is more ?. Do they have free breakfast ...

Check in is 3pm , I wonder if we can at least use the parking lot to store my junk.

A single room (w/one bed) is $124 (with view of lake) so $62 a night isn't bad. What's odd is that they charge $15 if you cancel AT ALL.....and there's a week notice required to do so. I think they quoted me $155 for a double (lakeside) or $145 (parking lot view).

I have a 5th person in the room and my wife probably added the tax into the amount she told me but do not fear I will be sure to get my monies worth out of this place . Maybe I should sublet space on the floor to recoup some of the cost :)

Ahhh my wife has dyslexia Our cost was 145.00 + tax total of 156.00 not 165.00
