Hi all. Enjoyed the part of the quarterly meeting I could stay for, but my 6 yr old was stuck hanging out with me yesterday and 3 hours was all he could take. Hope to have a chance to meet with you again soon. We are in the early stages of establishing a new Jeep club in Genesee County (please see www.whatliesbeyond.org for information), and look forward to working with GLFWDA in the future.
And for future scheduling, do all of the quarterly meetings run 4+ hours?

I saw you n the back with your kid, glad you make it as long as you did. Meetings as a rule usually last 3-4 hours. This one dragged out due in part to the Executive Board trying to get a clear vision of what the members want.
We'll get a timer for the next meeting and do a better job of staying on track. It was Mak's first time running a meeting and it was the first time the members got to have a say. We thought it was best to let everyone talk and say their piece.....except T-Way........We always have to shut those guys with PURPLE jeeps down! They always have something to say

I enjoyed talking with you at the meeting Sunday. I'll keep a watch on your website for your meeting information and show up if I don't have a conflict.
Nice talking to you.

Just to clear things up a bit.........Everyone in attendance at a quarterly meeting has always had a right to stand up and be heard, at least the ones I have been to. It was the actual voting that was limited.
I would say 3-4 hours would be expected. But the more business, the longer it takes. 4 times a year means a lot has to be fit in.
Oh, and HI and welcome :hello:

In 8-9 years of being a member, I don't ever remember a meeting being shorter than 3 hours...with most of them being around 4. I seem to remember a couple of 5hr meetings, but I try to block those out of my head.
Anyway....welcome aboard. Looking forward to meeting you in the future. I had a chance to check out your website yesterday, as Nosilla posted the link somewhere else. Looks good so far.....see ya around.

4 hours x 4times a year = 16 hours
8760 hours in a year.
8760 - 16 = 8744 hours to get there, get home, wheel, or the rest of that daily grind.
What's the problem?

Don't get me wrong - it was informative and well structured. I just wasn't sure if 4 hours was typical, or if it was due to everyone adjusting to new offices, new voting structure etc etc. I work like an idiot most of the time, so my son is always looking to tag along any time I go somewhere remotely fun. If a regular meeting was 2 hours, I might drag him along, but 3 or 4 hours means he gets left home next time.

I'm usually there for the Trail Ride Committee meeting at 10, so a 4-5 hour meeting is about normal. I would like to stay more afterward and BS which would make it 6-7 for me!!
I'd prefer it to take a short time on the Meeting and allow more time to BS, shoot ideas around, or have Committee meetings. I don't like driving 3 hours for a 2 hour meeting!
Oh, HI!
