Anyone else getting the same cold shoulder from the new Wrangler owners with the drive-by acknowledgement? I know I may be sounding petty but I enjoy my Jeep's. Call me crazy.

There are a lot of soccer mom types that don't know anything about the jeep wave so don't worry about it.

For what it's worth, I have a JK that is built and I get shunned fairly often from older jeep owners. Maybe I don't have a real jeep.

You are crazy (well you asked us to say that).

You are discovering what many of us have learned...any one can by a Jeep. Unlike the loyalty that breeds from the ownership of a Harley Davidson, Jeep ownership is sometimes just the vehicle in the driveway. This sense of loyalty is not lost on Jeep; regardless of your vehicle of choice, there are those that don't understand or appreciate what their vehicles are capable of in the way of opening doors of adventure.

Take solice in the fact you are part of something much bigger, for adventure and nature are awaiting your opportunity to explore.

We have a JK and TJ. I find almost equal that folks don't give the Jeep hello. It is interesting to see the same folks that don't wave. I put them on my hit list...I'm going to break them down...I will get them to wave.

I will say I was on a couple of Jeep forums when the JK 1st came out and the old TJ, CJ folks were ripping them big time. I like the on road ride of my wifes JK...she has the unlimited. There are not enough horses in that machine. I love my TJ for in the woods...I wish now I would have discovered the Jeep before I purchased my ATV.

Happy Easter to All,

Dave

Wrong.......... after 1990.

Seriously though, I don't wave at any stock jeep regardless of age. Call me a snob but to me, you don't fit into the fraternity without mods.

Thanks, Bob for the man/woman jeep statement. Most people assume that my jeep belongs to Ray.....just before I hit them.

Of course...to be a real jeep, it MUST be a manual. Automatics take the guesswork out of everything :poke:

and I wave to anyone/anything...I'm just friendly like that. (really, I just forget what car I'm driving because I'm old :ahhh: )

You have more Chevy parts in yours than jeep anyway so your's wouldn't be a real jeep even if it did have round headlights.

And I'll go. Just don't get too worked up with the shiny JK makes you look bad. lol

I'm like Pam and wave at pretty much every jeep. I even have thrown the wave to some built XJs.

I find myself doing the Jeep wave while I'm driving my Ram, it's just habit. Most people look at me like who the heck is this bone head waving at me!

I'm not a snob- if I don't wave, it's cuz I have a "real jeep" and am too busy pushing on the rag top to silence it, adjusting the damn twin sticks, reaching for the stick while holding myself into my cj while it bucks wildly, reaching for my darn cb, radio and locker switches because I mounted them in poor locations... Now that I think of it, a "fake" jeep doesn't sound that bad!

Nah, just kidding... I wave at all jeeps and wouldn't trade the old 7 for anything. Maybe you live too far south? :poke:

I guess I'm a little lost ? Are you saying that because I own a 09 JK I'm not considered a Jeeper ? I thought all Jeep guy's stuck together ? So your saying if you were stuck, my winch wouldnt be acceptable to pull you out cuz its on a JK ? I bought and built a JK because I love 4 wheeling and going to events and meeting new people , Isnt that what the Jeep experience is all about ?

Relax!! Nobody's dissing you for owning a JK!! They're just having some good-natured fun!!

As a new Jeep owner, you need to learn that this is all part of the Jeep experience! All Jeep owners have a friendly rivalry with each other, even though they secretly know that all Jeeps rule!! It's kinda like CJ vs YJ vs TJ vs JK vs KJ vs WK vs.......etc.

lol, I figured as much. I myself should have bought an older TJ and build that from the ground up instead of paying 25 grand for a JK and then sinking another 26 grand in building it with after market parts, 80% of which I did the labor myself . I could of had a bad ass TJ for that kind of money !!!:banghead: I thought the JK had a nice ride to it, and thats why I bought it. But like an Idiot I wasnt thinking of how much it was going to change the ride once I changed everything and have it sitting on 37" KM2's !! Live and learn I guess ? But like my new friends at Unlimited Offroad said once you get to the point where you have more money in building up the Jeep than the actual sticker price of the Jeep you are now a true Jeeper !!:thumb: Ive only been to one event so far ( Snofari ) and didnt know one person, being that this is my first Jeep and all. But in about an hour of being there I felt right at home and met so many great people I couldnt believe it. I now understand the phrase "Its a Jeep thing" and I WILL be at the Jeep Blessing :thumb: Cant wait to try out my new driveline !! See you all there !!:ahhh:

Tom..You're not alone about the wave in another vehicle...i have done it from my Suburban...you're right you get really strange looks. I'm going to have a windsheild sticker make....instead of "t's a Jeep thing..."Mine will ay "Wave...It's a Jeep thing"...but according to this thread I will have to add...if you don't have a mod then up yours...if you have square head lights then up yours...if you are a WJ, XJ, PJ, OJ, or MJ then you are not a real Jeep...so up yours...

Hey Bruce...you don't have a Liberty...it is more of a sand plow from what I remember.

Happy Trails,

Dave
