DNR IN THE FOOD CHAIN

Although i have been a michigan resident all my life, my knowledge of our governmental structure is somewhat limited.what I am looking for is any info, links or web pages pertaining to the stucture of the DNR.I am interrested in learning how its agenda's are delivered and administerd. are it's governing members appointed by the govonor or the legislature. What would it take to make these positions be elected by the voters?any insight or info would be great
