Those who know me know that I'm an insulin-dependent diabetic, and that I also ride a motorcycle.
On August 20th, I will be taking part in the 18th Annual Midnight Ride for Diabetes Research. The ride leaves the Grand Rapids Whitecaps Ballpark in Comstock Park at midnight, and travels all night to cross the Mackinac Bridge and arrive in St. Ignace for breakfast Saturday morning.
To participate in the event, riders must turn in a donation of collected pledges. To that end, I am collecting pledges over the summer. ANY amount is appreciated....even $5 will add up!!! I am asking for all checks to be made out to me, as I will need to convert them to one BIG check to turn in to the ride sponsors when I show up for the event.
By the time I ride all the way down there for the event, ride back up to St. Ignace, and then ride back home to Gaylord, I will have between 500 and 600 miles under my butt!
I don't check this board very often, so please contact me at my e-mail address (gpntroll@charter.net) for any questions. When you e-mail me, I will provide my name and address if you wish to send a check!
I have also posted on Michigan Jeepers, and I have thrown down a CLUB CHALLENGE to see which club can donate the most money!!!!
