I'd like to order a transmission to transfer case adapter today. I see both Novak and Advance Adapter have them for my application. I was recommended Novak, but now I see advance has a decent sale on them (of course) and it appears i wouldn't need the "optional" urethane mount. Anyone have any advice on which to use? Difference in price isn't huge, but it's enough- around $80 because of sale. Thanks in advance.

I'm running an advance adapters trans/tcase adapter/clocking ring, and it is a well designed, well built product.

I'm pretty sure I paid $450 for it.

I don't have an opinion as I've never used either. I've heard good things about both though..
I thought you were just putting in new axles though? When is that thing going to be done?

no, axles are still on the block. rear is already chromoly, but I will be trussing the housing. front... sick and tired of thinking about that one. Still looking for the "right" d44. was gonna go chromoly shafts in the 30 since I've already got the locker, but now I'm going to 37's on beadlocks I believe, so my aluminum wheels will be gone. Currently, a member from this site directed me to adapting a t18 ford to my d300 and I've switched to a hydraulic clutch setup. Switched bell, flywheel and clutch over from the engine's mustang variety to ford truck variety. Yanking the onboard air in lieu of ultimate air (too slow currently) *still have to buy this*. Put in a gear-reduced HO starter for the mustang motor (working up another mustang motor to swap in which will be higher compression). Twin sticked the d300, too. Finally will be tieing cage to frame. On a related note, you should see my "tank trap" now. Before ground freezes I wanted to improve it. Well, lol, it's improved!

Oh, to answer your question OZ, this time of year hunting and wood cutting plus kids sports are first priority but I still hope to have it done in October.
And BTW, Dan tells me your rig is sick. Glad to hear you're using that thing like it's intended to be used. We'll have to get out on a trail together sometime soon...

Wow, I thought it was just a simple axle swap. I guess it's a little more involved than that. Can't wait to see it done. Hurry up and finish it so we can get out. Also, I am trying to devise a decent route starting in Rose City and working my way to West Branch for SnoFari. I need your help seeing as you know all those trails.
Also, I don't know if you have wheels yet, but I have a set of 5 H1s sitting in the barn not being used...
As for my rig, it looks nicer than it is. It's still pretty basic. But it does get used. It's got more scratches and scrapes than any 8 month old jeep should. lol

I'm on my way out the door for 4 days to "bird camp", but am interested in at least hearing more about those wheels. Kind of had my eye on some, but am always looking!
Thanks.

I bought a bunch of H1s and then sold all but 5. I kept the 5 best ones of the bunch. They all have tires and the tires are just about perfect. The rims are also in great shape. I never got around to doing anything to them and then I sold my TJ. I have thought about running them on the JK, but I just don't think I want to run iroks on my JK. I'd rather run a radial seeing as I don't want to switch out tires all the time. And I'm pretty happy with my MT/Rs.

I don't have any pics. I had some when I sold all the others, but I deleted all of them. They are in the barn in Prescott so I can't exactly get them either right now.
They are a standard 8 bolt pattern. I think it's a 6.5 inch circle, but I could be wrong. Stock, they have like 7 inches of backspacing so you won't likely be able use them as they are anyway without hitting steering.
What most people do is cut out the center (it's on the outer half of the rim) and then weld in a new center on the inner half of the rim. You can get centers in various bolt patterns from many sources. Do an internet search and there are many dealers that sell them. Or contact Tab. He is in Midland and can make some for you. I know he has made some before. He is the guy who built my bumper for my JK. Real good guy. Generally, you can get a set of 5 for about 200 to 250 if I recall.
