I had to make a trip to Kalamazoo on sunday and was surprised by the amount of maple trees I saw in full blaze red. I wonder when the color peak will hit the west branch area. Any tree color reports?

Up here in TC I pass a maple tree every morning in the middle of a corn field and one half in completely embazed with red but the other is green as grass! There are a few other tree's up this way that are beginning to turn yellow and orange!! Haven't been out to the rollaways to see the full extend of color change yet but I expect it to be quite amazing for this time of year!

By my house (15mi north of W Branch) there's some tinting going on but nothing truly changing yet. It's clear it won't be long, though. The ferns in the woods changed like literally overnight. Was strange. Putting up a deer blind and took a pic from one spot one evening, and was out there 2 days later and took another pic of progress and you'd swear they were 2-3 weeks apart. Ferns had all changed in that area and could actually notice change in leaves. That was up by Fairview. Ducks are flyin', geese are die'n and bow season is only a few weeks away. What a great time of year!!! :thumb:

I was at Rocks and Valleys in Harrison, MI this last weekend and there was a little bit of change, but still a lot of green in the trees in that area. There were some trees that were changing, but not a lot yet from what I encountered.

I see lots of signs of Fall. The soy bean fields in SE MI are quickly changing from green to yellow.

I just got back from a week in the UP and the trees are starting to change there too. It was a family vacation, but I did get some trail riding done. We rode the Bill Nichols out of Houghton, the Hancock to Calumet route and part of the Haywire Grade route out of Manistique. All in all a good time! I wish that I had a month to go up there!

any cool trail rides to see the colors? Anything that will be legal 100%?
I think it will be very very soon that these leaves will change.

Weather was nice, but there was definitely a chill in the air. Lots of small trees/big branches down from the last wind storm.

I was in the Higgins Lake area this weekend. Some of the colors were very nice! The rain held off until late afternoon and we even had some snow for about 10 minutes. My son said they had to remove about an inch of snow off the football field at MTU prior to Saturday's game.

On the 10th we were near Higgins Lake with a group of friends trail riding. When it started to snow it was nice to turn on the wipers and turn up the heater for my wife. It beat putting on the rain gear if I would have been on the ATV...I guess this is a sure sign of getting older.
