Looking to install an Oil Pan Skid Plate on my 2004 TJ, it's stock. What ones have you used, Pros and Cons. Things to look for when purchasing...like has a place so you can get to the drain plug...best ground clearance, etc.

Thanks,
Dave

I don't think there are any oil pan skids that do a great job. Contact Ironman on this site & he can make you a custom one.

Good luck.:thumb:

I think all of the '03-'06 Wranglers have the same low-slun t-case skid - none of the oil pan skids will hang any lower than that. I just repaced the stock trans skid with a Skid Row oil pan/trans skid, easy to install and just dragged it across the rocks at the Mounds, it seems to work as advertised. Not sure if the guys at Valvoline will like it though.

my oil pan is pushed/crushed up about 2 inches for more clearance!

it took 6 at one time. i bet its about 4.5 to 5 now! looks like i can still get the drain plug out though. my last three 4.0L's have had smashed oil pans.
not one of them ever leaked, only one was smashed by me.
you would think i would want one of these skid plates.

im more worried about my very exposed dana 300, now that could use a skidplate!
