4.0L High Output Engine

I'm looking at purchasing a 00 or 01 XJ, but have not found any that have the high output on the hatch like my 94 XJ does. did those newer ones come with that HO motor, and if so how would i tell if it has it or not?

They are all the same motor. The HO designation came out in 91 because of some head changes and some other minor things. Either way, after that they were all the high port design.

just make sure its not a renix engine. otherwise they mostly interchange. some accessorys do differ, but you can swap to the set from the old engine.

The Renix engines are pre-91 engines. The electronics are all different.
