White rihno and i have talked about this , pat all so .

I have spent some time on the phone with the Ministry up there and here is what im told .

The signs we encountered last spring are in fact legit . These are restricted areas where no motorized vehicle is allowed . I told him there was no sign when we went in , traveled several miles then found the sign upon exiting onto a road . He thinks we have ran into a different area controlled by Wa Wa and that is why there was a sign on only one end .

They are not on snowmachine trails persay but singular roads here and there .

Snowmachine trails are multi use trails period .

Crossing a river is not illigal as they have no legislation to deal with it .

Regarding laws as Pat has said before there is baiscally none .

Now the other side of the coin .

The gent i spoke with was honest stating there was no lesgislation covering the items mentioned . At the same time he was pretty clear that the Ministry does not want you to cross any river due to some turtle issue .

Further more he was blantent that he does not like wheelers and stated why .

His words : While there is currently no law against you riding around out there we are getting upset about the degree of rutting in the roads , we are having trees pulled down , large ruts put in the roads that cause erosion problems as well . We often find new roads being cut through and or brush being ran down with no regard .

It is my guess its a matter of time before they get some form of legislation against our hobby .

Our best conservation efforts and avoiding rivers may be helpful to prevent such efforts .
