I am working with Sen. Michelle McManus to change the laws regarding replacement ORV permits and state park motor vehicle permits.
Currently, if you change your bumper (for ORV permits) or you need a windshield replacement (state park permits), your old permits will not be replaced by the DNR, even if you give them the old, destroyed one.
This seemed like a rip-off to me so I put a call in to the senator's office, as she oversees the DNR budget in the Senate.
She has requested a bill to be drafted that makes the DNR use common sense regarding these stickers so they stop charging us for a new sticker when something unforeseen happens.
I'll keep you posted on the progress, but wanted to let everyone know as there may come a time when I'll put a call out for e-mails or letters of support for this legislation.
