It was hot...way freakin hot.
Man we had a blast! Busted the front driveshaft 3 times, tore up the skid plate, ripped the steering box loose from the frame, tore up the tie rod and smashed my exhaust tips :( .
Well, this year they shortened the time for each event and made them twice as tough. I was a little dissapointed about many of the events because of the shortened time and the mud pit was simply a joke. Not One of the trucks this year made it even 1/4 of the way through before they had to winch. Some didn't make it that far. It turned into a contest about who had the biggest winch. I saw 4 winches burn up and one burst into flames. Several more just quit. No one, even with winching, made it more than just short of 1/2 way through the pit. And it was hot. This year there was way more carnage, and several roll overs. The most damage and rolls of any of these events and the guys that had been in them all said this year Fourwheeler wanted publicity, and they got it. People willing to risk it all and totally destroy their rigs for this.
It was an experience that I wouldn't trade for anything though. We made it home in one piece, no one got hurt, had some good camp fires. The kids had a blast. They all got to drive the Jeep around the badlands during down times. Fun fun fun.
