It was great. MSG did a great job for not having many 4x's signed up. People don't know what they missed. Even with 12-14 jeeps in our group I still didn't see enough. (T-way drives slower than me :P ). The park is awesome! (Turtle Ridge). Too bad someone had to be the badasses and close a couple of trails! So much for that. The chance to get a tour of the park was well worth it. If it's on next year-we'll be there. A 2 weeks later would be nice ;) . I'll have some pics of Woody's trailride up soon.

You can see my pictures from both days of DOA 2005 if you click here:

Thanks to MSG for doing a great job hosting this run. It was my first time to DOA but certainly not my last.

:D

Clay pits are closed? DNR said they wern't going to close them...said they were going to block the bypasses and wait till next spring to see if they got closed.

zookeeper I was in the tan CJ heading out to marble head, when you guys were coming back. My heim joint steering unthreaded itself, and you guys had to wait a couple minutes till I fixed it up. Sounds like you might of had a driveshaft issue? it was making some kinda noise. nice jeep though

Correct, DNR would not sign off on the event permit unless they were removed from the event. angry There may be more to it but that's what I know.

Our event Chair-person may be able to elaborate.

Glad to see you made it back OK!

The noise ended up being some dirt/mud/whatever caught up in my brakes. All cleared up now. Thanks.

The Clay Pits road and Clear Lake Road are open for non-organized events with small numbers. However, as I understand it, the DNR has dumped boulders down to block the giant Clay Pit hole that everyone talks about.
