Interesting thought......

If it was just one company, I would agree with you.... being that this is every car company out there struggling right now - its not just one company - I have to dissagree.... Total vehicle sales are down by every car company that has a major foot hold in the US (3 of which just happen to have very large footprints in the midwest - and are traded on the NYSE)....

The auto companies suppliment, out of those that are actually insured, about 1 in 5 americans for health care (at one time GM alone was 1 in 9).... no other industry does that.... There will always be people whom feel opposite of every issue, but the one positive that I have relative to the Auto Company LOAN is that they are truely asking for just a loan, and are willing to make consessions.... unlike our friends in the financial district whom have stated they will expand their companies with the money as well as pay out bonus's....

If the auto's fail, you loose your industrial base.... who, if you don't recall, were an instrumental source of Tanks, Jeeps, Trucks etc when WWI came about... in all honestly, its really a matter of national security along with national prosperity...
