Going to Tellico from 5/27-6/2. Staying at Crawford?s campground. Never been there before, so if anyone has suggestions they would be appreciated.

The last time I was there was 99 so I dont think I can help much.

Except this - DO NOT LET ANYONE TALK YOU INTO SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT COMFORTALBE WITH. And for you potty minds I am talking about an obstacle

And if you are employing a spotter make sure it is one you trust and make sure they are the only one doing the spotting, not 2 or 3 people trying to do it!

hope this helps a little,

Pat

What about the tougher obstacles, do most have bypasses or should I just avoid them all together? From what I?ve read and seen on-line it looks like ?helicopter pad? and ?guard rail? are pretty nasty.

Thanks for the heads up

When I was there helipad and gaurd rail did not have by-passes and I did not attempt them as at the time my CJ was sitting on 33" BFG's.

I would try them today, but only because I have had some experience in the rocks and my Jeep has some more ground clearence on 38" SX's

I do know that the trails change on a daily basis and even after a rain, they get some heavy rains in that neck of the woods.

If you are going to be there for a couple of days try and spend the first day getting a feel for the terrain on the easy trails and then set your sights higher after you feel comfortable.

For lower 2 trail you should have 35's, good flex, lockers, an experienced spotter and spare drivetrain parts. But it does have a bypass.
Have a great time, safely.

My biggest suggestion is if you don't have a winch and plan on running the big obstacles, think realllllllllllllly seriously about getting one as well as a tree saver and snatch block before going. It will make the trip more enjoyable because if you feel that you cannot make something, you can always pull yourself up and work towards the next section.

Most of the trails do not have bypasses. Hellicopter Pad has one, Guard Rail sorta has one, but it was originally only ATV width and is probably worse (more dangerous) than winching up the obstacle.

Lower 2, Schoolbus, and Slickrock have multiple lines, but no bypasses that I know of. (by that I mean, no easy exit point, once your on it, you're on it unless there's noone behind you and you can turn around and leave, which on the weekend probably will not happen.)

Schoolbus is pretty long and some sections have multiple lines, while others don't.

(now that I typed that, I see that you have a winch in your sig.. doh!)
