Had a pretty good meeting today with Senator Garcia on the Argo issue. In attendance was the Senator and an aide, Steve Kubiciak, Jim Radabeau, Marlia, Bill Chapin, three, from two environmental groups, two from Argo and thier lawyer, and Richard Rondeau.
Had some good dialog and included some of the history of the trail system. Explained the system was already stressed because of the large increase of sales. Rondeau also mentioned the increase of sales for side by sides.
Almost immediately, Argo folks let go on 40" and 50" trails and put the emphasis on routes. The meeting broke after a bit over an hour with all being told to submit whatever they wanted in writing and another meeting would be held within 30 days or so.
Neatest thing was, environmentalists agreed that opening routes/forest roads was the best way to go. So, we are in a new poker game, maybe something will fly, maybe not, but we are in the game.
