Well hello all. Just wanted to drop a line and intro myself. I'm Tim Strader. I live way up in the north country. We call it the Soo. Lets see, what else do I have to say here, well i'm a high school automotive teacher at the Sault Area Career Center. I have a 87 YJ that I have had for over 5 years now and I use it in my auto program to get the kids excited about a number of things auto related. All of the work on the Jeep has been done by my students and I. The students built and installed the motor, did the lift, etc. We just added a locker in the front and are waiting for the locker for the rear...should be here in a few days. We take it all over for off-road events and parades and the like. The kids love to be involved in the events we take it to. Really gets them jazzed. Hey, if you know anyone that needs a tax write-off, any donation to our program is tax deductable, we're saving for the Black Diamond coil over conversion...ok, nuff with the sameless plugs.
Anyway, looking forward to the spring opener. We'll be there. Can't wait to meet some of you there. Check out the gallery for pics of the project.

Hey Tim, welcome to GL!
There are a bunch of us who travel to your neck of the woods several times per year.
Your photo looks like one of the bridges off of Whitman Dam road out of Searchmont????
We'll see you at Spring Opener and hopefully north of the Soo.

Actually it's a bridge over a beaver dam out on a snowmobile/orv trail. It's on a trail that runs from Rudyard to Raco. I forget what they call it, but I call it the devil road. HUGE holes make for some fun.

Thought there was a history teacher opening, but not sure. They (the regular school teachers) don't associate much with the vocational school teachers. We are not good enough for them I guess...that is until they need work done on their vehicles, then i'm their best friend...LOL. :P

Yea, the Soo. We'll be putting on a few runs this summer up here. Hope some of you can make it.
We'll be at the soring operen and at the Drummond Off-Road Adventure of course...that's like in my back yard. Marble Head here we come. Lots of upgrades going in right now. We just put a locker in the front, and are working on the rear now. Tires will be in this week...I hope. Crap :o , just remembered I forgot to order the rims angry ...anyway, we have 33x13.5 Swamper LTB's for the front and 33x14.5 Boggers for the rear on the way. In case you are wondering, we are setting it up mostly for the mud runs but the tire set-up will work well in the rocks on the island too.
