Well, I got a nag when I logged in that "it appears that (I) have not posted on our forums in several weeks" so here it is.

For all you "What Lies Beyond" dudes, what do you have on your "you've been spotted" cards? I want some ideas for leaving on Scouter windshields... Anybody have any suggestions?

TIA,
Jerry

Ours are pretty simple -

"Unless you go you'll never know....

{logo here}

You have been spotted. Please visit us at www.whatliesbeyond.org"

They seem to work - we have found a handful of our members that way. They are also handy to have when we are out wheeling and run into other groups on the trail.

We started out printing our own, but it gets expensive. Plus, my inkjet uses a water-soluable ink, which isn't always the best for anything in my Jeep!

Speaking of water-soluble, way back when, when I had an oil-leaking (plastic valve cover) '82 258 (redundant, I know), a buddy of mine that is even cheaper than I am gave me a tube of bathtub caulking. No way. "Yeah, my dad says he's used tub caulking a bunch of times." Well, as we were late going north to the trails, I finally gave in. He used some on the lower right corner of his w/s gasket too. Well, we got about 4 miles away and stopped at an Arby's ... another friend in our group comes 'round and says "Jerry, you've got smoke!!" Well not only is Brians genius of an idea FLAMMABLE (really, actual flames), it was apparently water soluble since on the way to Kalkaska the rain began to wash away HIS caulking thereby leaving nice white streaks down the side of the Jeep and a puddle on the floor.
