Just wanted to say thanks to the MudChuggers! Had a great time! Great group of people! Sorry no pics, forgot the camera in the hotel
A few blogs: First run a guy couldn't make it up the icy slope about 175' down hill from me. I spooled out my hundred feet, he unspooled his FIFTY feet?? He had been cutting down his winch cable. Had to use a strap in between.
Second day a guy forgot to put his CJ in 4wd and couldn't make it up a hill - had to be winched because of the ice.
Also saw a guy drop his axle on the ground twice while changing a tire because the HiLift shifted on the ice. OUCH!
Fun Times, for sure! :D

I'll second Chris' GREAT TIME with the Mudchuggers. We didn't run the same trails, but I did visit with Chris at the banquet.
Our first day was lead by our own Frank W. He did a GREAT job NOT getting us lost in the woods. We had a few vehicles that had some minor problems with ice, hills or equipment, but as usual ... others stepped up and lent a helping hand. I was a little concerned starting out with our Grand on 31" tires in with a lot of 35"+ and a home built with 44s in our group ... but Frank said don't worry ... we'll get everybody through. We did take the bypass on the tank trap and a pass on the optional hill/tobaggon slide but we avoided the strap and the winch cable all day. We were in before dark and enjoyed pizza and some cold ones around the pool.
Our second day was lead by Ryan (silver XJ with mods) of the Mudchuggers. Another very caring Trail Leader. My son-in-law and daughter did most of the driving this day, I enjoyed my 4 year old granddaughter's excitement of jeeping in Grandpa Doug's blue Jeep. Again the Grand performed above everyones expectations, as long as we kept it on the trail. Seems my son-in-law decided to make his on parking place at lunch ... and we required a slight tug to get out of the only drift around. Later, while I was trying to get some pictures at the top of a long half ice (left side), half wet gravel (right side) hill, the Grand once again decided to jump off the trail (before it started uphill) and required a pair of winches to put it back on the trail without any body damage from the adjacent foliage. At this time, son-in-law requested I resume piloting to the top of the hill. Then I turned the driving duties over to my daughter who enjoyed putting Dad's Jeep through it's paces in a scramble area ... she doesn't have to fix it ... but she did well and now I don't have too either. Again, we did pass on the "Money Pit Hill" while watching 2 make it and 2 attempts that ended in a high speed tobaggon run in reverse!
We'll be there in 2006, if we make the registration cutoff in time.

Had a blast! Good weather, enough snow lots of ice. Went on the same runs as motrcytman both days. We would do it again. I 'll have some pics up soon--I think I took a 100 on 1 camera and 40 on the other.
I took a run on the toboggan slide-nothing like sliding backwards with no control, but I did make it to the top finally!
We did waste a hub/bearing on the way home-don't think it was from this trip it just helped it along.
So Chris you didn't break anything? :P
