all of the above....

www.4wheelparts.com is about as close as you're going to get.

I would rather support a small or local company if their prices are inline though.

Naa I am talking about a stand up store, walk in and talk Jeeps to a real live person with knowledge of Jeeps. Maybe even a small garage in the back to do small repairs. Ordering something online is much easier and more accessible...but hey, we are Jeepers, if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

I am picturing Spanky's in Alanson. Huge store just for sleds. Boots, helmets, tractions thingys, shocks..and pretty much anything else you guys need for those things.

Imagine that packed with Jeep accessories.

:crazy:Have I lost it?

Cost, they cannot move the volume. There are a few local shops down state, and everytime I have priced them they are WAY over what I can get it out of a catalog or online or from a big box store for. I priced an SYE at a local place, and they were $100 higher then anyone else online.

Bushings for my CJ2A springs were $30-$50 locally at the shops. I paid 12.99 and no shipping.

Sounds like Kevin's Jeeperz-Creeperz to me ... I've been there and done that with Kevin and his folks!

THANKS for being there, Kevin!

yes kevins shop is very nice, and he does installs! try to get an online part installed. he and his female counterpart are very nice also. big glfwda supporters. also check with ironman offroad he does some amazing work! also check rbr offroad. these are real shops you walk into and talk to a real person.
perhaps you can get something cheaper online, thats why there not more shops like this locally, cause we dont support them. we buy the cheapest part we can find. that usually involves some online store or escam. i know ive done it myself.

For what it is worth i really like our local shops...

I have purchased from local sources and paid about the same as I would as if I bought on-line with shipping etc.

What I really like is locally if I have a question. I e-mail JCreepers or Ironman and they respond promptly. It is never a tech, or just a phone jockey. It is the shop owner themselves. Kudo's to you guys for this.

I also get parts off of e-bay, carquest, and a few other web type suppliers.

Still can not beat the kowledge of a local off road shop.

If there was a spot like Cabellas for Jeeps and it was within 100 miles or so I may stop by a few times a year but practically speaking it would only be for a shirt, or to see an event or somthing. I don't think there would be a big enough client base to keep them in business long?

Maybe that is an idea for the local shops? Have a seminar on lift installation, or something like that charge $x per person to attend, show how lift is installed. They will either really helped some folks, or converted folks to realize they can not do it right in their garage. (maybe the local shops do this and I am not aware? They could do this with general maintinance stuff too for jeep newbies).
