I got an email about a possible trip to West Branch on Feb 5, Saturday. Is any one up for a trip? What's the snow conditions like there right now, and any idea what it'll be like this weekend?

Hi Mr. Green,

WhiteRhino from this board was just up there this past weekend, send him a pm and ask him about snow conditions.

I am sure that when he see's this post he will reply also.

As for me going feb 5th, I would like to but we will be in Indy at the SEMA offroad show.

And take Frank up on his offer to join him, he is a hoot!

I just returned last night from West Branch.
We ran the areas around and including the St Helen motorsport park and also northwest of Rose City.

The snow is about 1 ft deep. Very similar to the Detroit area.
This is deep enough to have some fun but not so deep as impassable.

Have fun!

Howdy Frank,

Sounds good-- I'm a "Jeeper" but I won't be in a Jeep. I have what used to affectionately be called a Rice-burnin' Jap-crap-mobile: a late-80's Toyota 4Runner. Now, most people just call it my rusty POS. :)

It's locked front and rear, and riding on 33 MTs, so hopefully I can keep up. If not I have a winch that I can swap front and rear. (Or, if it quits working again, a shackle or two you can yank on.)

However, after sending that email, I'm now wavering-- I'm coming from the far side of Chicago, and I can't decide between 'aw hell just do it' and 'wait until March when my son's b-ball is over, and maybe someone else can join me'... (I'm eager to try out the on-board air and twin-stick I installed last month, however.)

So, Frank, pick a place and time-- maybe something like 10am? would give me reasonable time to hustle over from flats-ville Illinois...

Thanks,
Kenton
