How did this go?

i went on one of the early ones we did, and it went pretty well. we have most of it mapped now. need about 1/3 more mapped last time i checked. that part has less trails in it though, so it should go a little quicker.

Here's where we were at the start of the day:

And here's the end of the day:

And here's what still needs attention:

Are all the yellow areas legal trails? Are you making maps? What is the reason for doing all this work? That looks like a lot of work. Good Job. My brother has a cabin in the area and does not know the trails so this could be a great map for him. Thank you.

yes almost all of it is legal at the moment. a couple small side trails we were unsure if they were legal, so we walked them on foot and mapped them that way. i think they got included on the map. alot is gonna get closed soon we think. unless we can get alot of it included in the m triangle project.
some nice camp sites in there too. 90% is accessable by your wifes awd grocery getter. a few fun hill climbs but otherwise fairly easy. could have done 95 percent of it in 2wd in my tj. lots of good hunting area. the pink numbered areas need to be mapped still. some is most likely done now and just not updated yet.

Everything Joe says is correct, except that we still need to complete the mapping of the pink areas. There's not much trail in them as they're closer to the towns of Mesick, Yuma, and Cadillac.

We're trying to GPS every trail that currently exists in the area enclosed by M115, M55, and M37 (thus the "M Triangle" designation for the project). The object is to see if there is anything that requires the use of 4WD for inclusion in the NFS's first designated 4x4 Route. So far we've found two nice gravel pits, several hill climbs, and s few trails that qualify.

That is awsome guys. P.M. me some contact info. I would like to talk further about this. I am trying to get my brother to join GLFWDA because his cabin is within a mile of that area. He is not the type to fight the fight but be can at least donate some money by joining.
