I have a love of cars and trucks. I have enjoyed working on and driving them since I was a teen. I have had a 1968 lemans convertible, a 1968 cutlass convertible, a 1974 formula firebird 400 4spd, a 1967 meyers manx, a 1995 country buggy shop sand rail and now my 1995 jeep yj. I enjoy fixing them up the most. When I need to relax I will head out and tinker on them. It never seems like I have the time to use them for what I purchased them for which leads to frustration and eventually selling them for another project. I thought the jeep would be different. It would be more pratical than the other projects I have had and I could drive it year round. I put a 4 1/2" bds lift, new bumpers, winch, rock sliders, 33" tires, sye, 8.8 with eaton e-locker. Just knowing I would be able to take off on a moments notice to the great outdoors and enjoy joining in on a group run and have some fun. How ever it seems like every time something comes up that would be fun to do something is always there to stop the fun. I have 3 children 18,15 and 12. I watch to see what events are coming up and try to plan to make it out. For example the fall color tour and glfwda meeting in a couple weeks. I was excited to attend both but I found out I will be working in church on sunday from 7:15 to 12:30 here in Adrian. Well so much for the meeting on sunday. I can still go up on friday night and go on the color tour saturday. My wife informed me I have volunteered to work the concessions stand at the home coming football game on friday night. Well ok, I guess I will get up saturday and leave by 5:30 drive up for the run and drive back late that afternoon. My son calls and says he is coming home from college for that weekend and he is wondering if he and I could do some bow hunting together. I cant say no to that so another weekend adventure with me and my jeep will have to wait. I dont know if others experience these types of draw backs but they are seeming all to common these days. I wont trade my family time for jeep time. It seems with the kids at the ages they are, there is always something brewing. Oh well. If you guys could keep posting all of the great pictures of all the great times you are having I can live the outdoor life through you. Oh well time to get back to work.

Hank, nothing new to any of us with kids, homes, jobs and wives to spend time and money on.:ahhh:

My wheeling broke free a few years ago when my oldest got married & my youngest went off to college all within 2 months of each other.

Why do you think my license plate says "KDSRGON"?:hysterical:

I have a 15 and 13 year old so I don't get to get out nearly as much as I'd like to. I've told my wife that it will be nice when the kids are out of the house so I can get out and do some more wheelin, but she says we'll miss them and I'll want to spend all of my time at home with her. I guess 17 years of marriage isn't long enough for her to completely understand me yet.:hysterical:

Same here. Between my crap 10-12 hour side job's and my "you can work sunday for a few right?" I Dont have time to get away. My xj is 2x more road worthy than my work truck and it rest's in my 1 car garage.:banghead::banghead: Besides my "kid" (St Bernard). At least the wife love's wheeling and camping as much as i do, but now she has a full time job now too..:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::bang head::banghead:
Somehow I stay happy most of the time..:D

Post the pictures of your trips. Many a day I find my self trying to get out more with the jeep, but the usual stuff gets in the way. So when I'm working those 60 hour weeks, I can sometimes find a little peace of mind looking through the forums for pictures and adventures of others.

Armchair jeepin'. got to do something about all of this folks. Let's get some time for ourselves, otherwise, you'll wake up some day and find you are too old to put in the clutch.

Anyways, you are not alone.

Ride-on......
