ok guys got an issue, the compy crashed and i losed Mapsource. It wasnt a CD as far as i can rembember it was a download from garmin. Garmin is saying i never registered with them which i swear i did, but thats beside the point. you got any ideas as how to get my info off compy onto the Unint and vica versa. I still have all my maps and points saved and i have all the mapping cd's just not the mapsource software to make the two link up.

On both the Mapsource products I have, the software is on the CD. You may have to "uninstall" mapsource so that when you put in disk #1, it automatically tries to install the software.
Then you can go to the link mentioned above and upgrade to the latest version (after you have it installed). If your MapSource is the Topo version, you will want to download and install the base map patch in addition to the upgrade in MapSource version.

If you don't have success with MapSource, and you need to pull info from your GPS down to your computer, you can use EasyGPS which is FREE! You can get it at http://www.easygps.com It will download (and upload) tracks and waypoints.

Garmin won't let you upgrade to the latest unless it detects a version of MapSource already installed on your computer. Any version, no matter how old, is fine. The software is usually on disk #1 of your MapSource data CD's.
