Deb,

Would you post this to the GL message board, unfortunately I will be in Las
Vegas for the SEMA show so I personally will not be able to attend.

But I am sure some other GL family members would like to know about it.

I think it would be nice if we passed the hat and raised some funds for a fellow wheeler. I'll be sending my $20.00. Anyone else care to step up to the plate? What could be a better cause?

I don't have an e-mail for them Frank but maybe someone who knows them would be able to find out. I'm sure if we couldn't get the money there by the 6th that they would still take it afterward. Pat might be able to get the info we need.

I first started wheeling with Steve in 1976. He is a great guy! I have stayed at his house and canoed with he and Kathy.

He had opened (I think it was called) "Northern Michigan 4x4" right on M72 near Williamsburg. He ran a Jeep called "the enforcer" that ran on the pro mud bog circuit. He was also an awesome obsticle course driver. He had to shut down the business after his partner had a tragic accident. He is a true icon in Michigan wheelin.

Unfortuantely, we already have a commitment for that day.
As soon as we have an address, I will be sending $100.00.

My very best wishes to Steve from an old friend.

I want to up the ante on this.
I would like to challenge all my fellow GL members to step up to donate and help a long time Michigan wheeler.

So:
In addition to my $100. pledge, for every additional $100.00 that this thread pledges, AND PAYS, I will donate an additional $10 up to another $100.00.

In other words, if you guys pledge $1000.00, I will donate a total of $200.

I would like to see all of us send a check to Tina, and then she can work with Rick Ingman (our treasurer) to send one big check from Great Lakes.
In that way, Tina could keep track of the donations.

How bout it?

Jim

I'll hellp anyway I can.
I put out a challenge to the Troll's for at least a $100.00 donation. So far it looks like it's a go.I challenge ALL the other clubs in Great Lakes to this challenge also!

Mail donations to:
Tina Brasseur
7200 Bunker RD.
Indian River,MI 49749

I will make sure the money gets to where it needs to go and keep track of how much was donated.

Thanks for all your help Jim!

Let me clarify.
I will match 10% of any donation. It does not need to be in increments of $100.

I can donate some, but I have to explain things to my husband :P
But the brownstown fire department did a show to raise money for someone who had brain cancer. We could do an event and sell 50/50 and donation raffles to raise more money. Maybe we could do that at the GL xmas party.. which Yogi is organizing :D

I am good for a donation as well! Tina look for my check in the mail!

Kerry, I like the idea of taking donations at the X mas party! Go Yogi!

Jim, you have set the bar once again, Thanks! I did not know that you know who this guy is, I am glad you mentioned what he is about. Deb Stafford had forwarded these e-mails to me and others and I asked that they post them here as I knew GL could put together a good showing of support. After all this is what we trully are about, taking care of one another!

Keep it coming,

Does anyone know how the benefit turned out?

Remember fellow GL members, we are taking donations till November 15th.

For those of you who want to see me spend more money, now's your chance since I am still matching all donations with another 10%.
