The Genesee County Risk Manager is looking for examples of a 'typical' Rock Crawl course that we envision for the Mounds.
So, what I need are pictures of courses, preferabally with a vehicle on the rocks and it goes without saying that the vehicle has to be on ALL 4 WHEELS! So, no pictures of HJ turtled or playing dead @ Unlimited Offroad Grand Opening!
In all seriousness though, this is the make or break point for the Rock Course The County will be evaluating the risk they would be undertaking and making an assessment of their exposure to lawsuits and injuries for an obstacle course like this.
No whining about 'it's an off road couse' and 'stuff' is gonna happen. I just want to send her pictures of what we would envision for a course. i.e. rock sizes, layout, as in around trees and up hills, etc. I already have a few from my presentation last year and will forward them along with what I get here.
Video's would be great as long as we host them and send them the link. I don't want to give them an 'avenue in' to You-Tube videos that would be damaging to the environment, i.e. oil spills, or showing vehicles rolling over.
Thanks in advance for everyones help. We are getting closer!

I know there were pics posted of my jeep at the mentioned opening. Most pics of vehicles on rocks are from trails out of state rather than man made courses.

Of course, just show them some pics of WEROC events & such from mags.........

Cool, good to know Rockcrawlers may soon have a place to play in Mich. Looks fun, as I've never been to a rockcrawling event, etc.

The GP&R only received one bid, BUT that bidder can 'sub-contract' as needed.

I'm still hopefully that we will be able to enlist the aid of Rich Klein of WE Rock for assistance in the design of the course.

until gcp&r gets off their high horse with the "engineered" aspect of things, I dont think its going to happen, I'd be willing to bet not even big/little rich are "engineers"

they need to leave the construction planning to a committee that understands what is needed, not an "engineering firm" that has never seen rockcrawling.

It's funny........... we are doing a goverment job right now for the army corp of engineers. Yesterday we were discussing that now we know why hammers cost $150 and toilets cost $6000. These guys are rediculous. We ship millions of dollars all over the world but these guys can't make a decision on those exact same products that work for everyone else.............. Give them an answer, it's another question, answer that, it's another question and on and on and on.
