As you may know CoA4WDCI is offering a 16 day window of 4Wheeling in Colorado built around the convention,Wednesday through Friday, July 25 through 27.

We will start with 4WD trail runs on Sunday 22 July and they will be available for 7 days through Saturday 28 July. These trips are open to all UFWDA members, not just United delegates. Please pass this information on to your club/Association members.

Starting in April we will have a 2007 Convention sign-up application available on-line at UFWDA.org and we will list 5-6 trails that will be offered daily. You (meaning delegates, families, and just plain ol' United members)will be able to select trails until the first part of July and we will run the trails selected. Of course there will a minimum number of vehicles required for each trail each day. We will have seats in the local 4x4's vehicles on these runs for that go for those that can't bring their 4x4's.

The offered trips will run from Moab, 21 Road, Montrose area, Bang's Canyon, Colorado National Monument site-seeing , easy 4WD trails, and local old town shopping. Grand Mesa Jeep Club of Grand Junction will be your host and trail boss. They are working on an overnight trip to Moab, instead of making the Moab trip a 12-14 hour day. Moab is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Grand Junction.

The convention hotel is the Ramada Inn of Grand Junction, just 1 mile from the Walker Field airport. The Ramada has an airport shuttle. There will be a link on the on-line convention application directly to the Ramada, where you can make your reservations and pay by pen-pal or mail a check. There will be a cut-off date of 1 July to make reservation at the $65/night rate.

Grand Junction is on the western edge of Colorado, just 25 miles from the Utah border. If you fly into Denver, just take I-70 west for 248 miles. The nightly room fee of $65 will be available from Saturday night, July 21st and run through Saturday night July 28th and includes a continental breakfast. They are wired for wireless internet throughout the building.

Following the convention week is Mile-Hi Jeep Club's All-4-Fun with trips starting on Sunday 29 July. This is a week long 4WD event in Salida, just 150 miles from Grand Junction on a US Highway 50 and will celebrate their 50th birthday.

Trips run on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday is vendor's day with many, many vendors and their discounted wares on display. There are also kid's programs, show-n-shine, contests, hot dogs/burger cookout, and more. There is something under the tent every night, with Thursday night being door prize night; there will be enough door prizes for every vehicle registered will get at least one. There will also be a raffle that will include sets of tires and winches. Friday night is the big blow-out with Warn Industries night. They have been doing this for 21 years at A-4-F. There is always a band and more door prize drawings, including a winch and more Warn products.

To get on the A-4F mailing list, email me your mailing information including your email address to Gene@BigBlueToy.com And hurry; the mailing will be sent the first part of December. Remember, these 2-week Colorado 4WD events are open to all United members, not just the delegates.

It's important to remember that when you receive your A-4-F mailing to respond ASAP. This event of 350 vehicles will fill by mid February. If later on you find you can't go, you can get a refund as long as it's before the cut-off date for refunds.

Happy Trails,
