So, how many people want to wheel Saturday before the meeting?

How many people want to wheel Sunday afternoon after the meeting?

Gotta get it planned! :)

im cool with either. but i think if the meeting went fast then, sunday would be best for those who have to travel, and might promote more attendance to the meeting itself. i could even do both, ill have the camper down here so i could stay in town if people wanna wheel both days. see yall there. and i now no longer work sundays, so i can actually attend the meeting.

Where is everyone staying? I only live 1 1/2 hours away, but I haven't decided if I'm staying overnight yet. I'd like to see a decision on the wheeling aspect soon, cause I'm not sure if I can make both days, Therfore I vote for sunday

Saturday for sure ... maybe count us for 2 Jeeps.
Since I have never been to the Mounds and since I have yet to look up exactly where it is located, I can't answer about Sunday. But we'll probably head south to Ohio.

Yes, where do you recommend us Motel campers should stay on Saturday night???

Thanks!

How is it better to wheel on sunday for those that have to travel? Wouldn't they want to get on the road after the meeting?
[/b][/quote]

what i meant was they wouldnt need to find a place to stay, or stay 2 days. just drive there, go to the meeting, wheel, and go home. now if your driving 5 or 6 hours that may not be as easy to do! but it can be done! i do it for the doa every year. this year i drove form detroit to pittsburg and back to detroit then straight to drummond and hit turtle ridge alone. non stop.

Looks like I'll be there for the meeting. Not wheeling of course, but if someone had a seat open on Sunday that would be cool too.

I will probably have a seat. My son in law has first dibs but I think he is gonna bail. At this point, I am only wheeling on Sunday. Doesn't look like many plan to wheel on Saturday.

Hey Lucas, I already offered you a seat in the F-350, or is it too nice for you? Or can't you deal with fancy things like electric windows and a glove box light.

Bob, I'll bring my strap, hopefully I have my Jeep! It's been giving me fits but working with a local repair shop I think we've figured out what's going on. :motz_6:

I still can't make it on Saturday at this point but am definitely in for Sunday after the meeting.

While we generally have a more formal "trail ride" with leaders showing everyone the way, the Mounds doesn't lend itself to that as well. Even on it's "trails" it's more of an play area where it's pretty hard to get lost or to get stuck without someone around to help (unless it's at the very end of the day).

If you've never been there, just get a map from the hut when you check in. It would be great to have a GLFWDA group or two or three head out together to different areas because it's more fun, there's not much need for trail leaders.

Just my .02.

We have changed our plans at home - I am only going to play on Sunday.

I live in a 2-Jeep family, so sometimes I have to share Jeep time with Mrs. phittie1100 and her Jeep. We will be enjoying the fall colors in West Branch on Saturday instead.

Well, due to the drive from Ohio, I'm committed to Saturday, just need a time when we might meet someone else who knows the way around (our first time at the Mounds). We'll be headed south after the Quarterly, again due to driving time.

Sorry we'll miss the FUN at the Mounds on Sunday, so have some for me, N/C!

you can get a map from the toll booth, you cant get lost at the mounds! in case you dont see someone right off the bat. might try making a right a few feet past the booth, then following it all the way to the back and hang a left. that will put you near the big mud pitts and the small section of tight trails in the rear of the park. alot of people play in that area. have fun! its small so no matter where you go sooner or later youll end up in the parking lot or a scramble area. be carefull some of the mud holes are quite deep and could swallow a truck on 38's. there is alot of smaller fun mud holes also!
