JP magazine photo shoot

As some of you may know, there was a photo shoot this past weekend at the dunes and Mounds with JP magazine. It was an invite only event put on by Scramblerman who is not on this board so it did not get any press here. Pat (Ironman) and I had submitted an application and were part of the group to attend both days. (There was also an mud bog on Sunday but I don't know anything about it)

Friday was a great day. A little cold but clear and sunny. The JP rep was Pete Trasborg, the associate editor of the magazine. He spent the entire day taking pics of climbs, jumping, races and stucks. I missed out on the group photo on the beach due to a fuel gage problem that left me without gas. :WhiteRhino:

Saturday at the mounds was another great time. Pete did a lot of pics of the mud folks (which I avoided) and then we got him to ride with us back in the tight off camber stuff. He was with a group of about 6 of us for a good 2 hours. He took lots of pics and said that this is the kind of wheeling he enjoys.

So, with any luck, we will get in the magazine some time this fall. (And, I will have finally made a magazine without falling off a cliff :thumb-up: )

A good followup is that Scramblerman told us that his club (Moonlight Stompers) wants to be part of GL.

I also talked with a couple of former members this weekend in West Branch. Mike Card and his son Dan are both interested in getting involved with GLFWDA. Mike said they'll come to the quarterly in June and check us out. :)

You know what?

Even if the story never went to print, and you guy's rigs never made it to the mag., it was a great weekend of wheeling!

We had a great time with freinds new and old. We had a blast showing Pete and his girl freind Missy? around.
They had fun checking out a few types of Michigan Wheeling.

I wish I could have stayed longer on the Mounds trail ride saturday, but I had to get to work. I really liked the run (both days) and I had a great time. It was nice to meet everyone :D .
