OK, so I plan to build my garage this weekend. Setup who's coming, ordering all sorts of junk etc... Last weekend I go up to Canada to wheel, have a great time, then come home to stress!
I've spent all week ordering wood, picking up wood, unloading wood, calling people to remind them to come, checking weather reports...and at the same time I have this little thing called the Boondocker to put together! Come Thursday, I realize that Mothers Day is Sunday, so, I loose a few people I had on Saturday helping. Now, the 2 full days of 6-7 people turns into 1 full day and one 1/2 day with 1/2 the people!
We got the walls up on Saturday, put the trusses all up as well. Thinking I'd have the shingles on by Sunday night, we stopped at 8pm and drank a few and admired our work. Then after church, breakfast with Mom's, etc... we decided to start at Noon on Sunday....uh oh. Gettin' a little tight!
Well, today we got the rest of the tyvek up, got the overhangs ready, storage sheeting in, and probably an hour away from being able to put some OSB down for the roof, and it starts to rain.
Not just rain, but go from cloudy to marble sized drops of cold rain, to hail in under 1 minute. Were scrambling all over to unplug cords, cover up saws, move into shelter and watch the liquid nails we just put down repell the rain!
So, now that everything is soaked and slipery, including all of us, we had to call it short. So, now I get to try and finish the roof by myself, maybe talking a friend into helping, and probably begging some more to help with the shingles once I'm ready!
What a weekend! Now for the work week!
But, the important thing is, the Boondocker is still getting done! I've got one more advertisement I'm waiting on and we can do a rough draft print and hopefully between working on the garage and work, I can edit it and get it to the printer mid week!
And as "girly" as strawberry daiquiri is, I think I need one with twice as much good stuff!
