So I was driving home from work today and I see this set of tires strapped to a tree with a chain, so I stop to check them out. $100 bucks later I own a set of 38x15.50x15 Ground Hawgs on 8 lug rims. 3 have about 30-40% tread left and one is like new. I have no clue what I'm going to do with them, but I couldn't pass that deal!

buy one new one, put the 2 new ones on front, next best 2 on rear, worst one is a spare. perhaps u should buy axles to fit the rims???????

Ground Hawgs and Gumbo Mudders were THE TIRE for mud in the late 70's to mid 80's. Perfect tires for a budget build!

I'm thinking I'll see if they will fit my daily driver 88 f-350 4x4 first (right now I have a beautiful set of 36 tsls on it that are meant for the sammy that I don't want to eat up) however if I cant get the 15 inch rims to clear, I might swap the tires over to a set of 6 lug rims and put them on a set of wagonner 44's I've got in the backyard waiting for the sammy. I'm thinking 5.89 gears, spool or weld the rear, and an aussie locker front...any thoughts?

if you put 36s, d44s, a lowrange gearset in the t-case and a couple extras on it you will never touch the jimmy again, seriously....

He goes from Jimmy, to a Jimmy, then to a Sami.....I keep telling him to stop wasting his time and just do it right, buy a Jeep!! ;-)

Were these on Secor Rd. in Lambertville by any chance?

I just wondered, I saw a set chained to a tree down that way. Don't know what the guy was asking for them though?
