I SOOOOO need one of your T176 trannys. I can do without a tcase, as I already have a D300, but I need the trans in the worst way. Where are you located? Please PM me so I can come buy one from you.

What are the NP205's out of? Any with early 8-bolt (race track) adapters?

How many NP231 transfer cases? Do you know what spline input?

Where are you located?

Timberwolf

I will seperate a T176 for you.

I live in Indian River, exit 310 off I-75.

White Rhino and others will be by here on the way back from Canada next weekend. They might be able to transport your parts south for you.

I also am a semi truck driver. I drive up and down I-75 & M-23 four days a week. I can deliver most anything to an off ramp or parking lot near you.

I do have one Chevy NP205 with the "race track" bolt pattern.

How many 231's do you need?

What spline do you need?

I'll have to check what I have.

April 28th, 2006, 12:56 AM
I sent you a PM before I read this...I would be willing to pitch in a little extra if you would bring that T176 somewhere a little further south with you during the week. I run a route with my truck that takes me occasionally north of flint, but I can run outside that if I feel like it. How far south do you normally come down? I'll PM you my cell phone number that way we can just talk that way and make it easier for both of us. Thanks!

Do any of the NP435's have the square t-case adapter bolt pattern (as opposed to the "A" bolt pattern)

Timberwolf
April 28th, 2006, 11:27 PM
The 435's with a square bolt pattern on the back are usually a two wheel drive tranny.
I say "usually", because anything is possible.

The square pattern and "A" pattern trannies can all be used for a nonfactory application. You just need to order the correct adapter.

The two that I have are both the four wheel drive "A" pattern style.

I will check the spline count of the 231's in the morning.

23 runs north and south from Flint to Toledo.

Timberwolf

OK, I have two 231's, both have the Jeep 23 spline input.
One has the longer input stickout(good for using with a rotator ring).

All you guys running a 231, and saving up the $200/$300 for a slip yoke eliminator, these jeep 208's already come with one. They only have a slightly higher low range(2.61 for a 208, 2.72 for a 231). If you have doughts about their strength, think about this. All the '80's model military pick-up's(rated at 1&1/4 ton), and Blazers, used a 208 t-case. Chevy and the military agreed to use 208's even though the "HD" 205's were still available.

I also have a few Scout Dana 20 T-csaes, two Early Bronco Dana 20 T-cases, A Jeep 207 T-case, and a number of Jeep 3 speeds.

Timberwolf
May 12th, 2006, 02:56 PM
Muddy Paws, Bobby has a set of said YJ 4cyl 4.10 geared axles.

I do indeed have full width Ford D44 high pinion axles of the cast "c" and non cast "c" variety.
1 cast "c" housing is coplete out to the spindles, 2 cast "c" housings are bare, with only the outer knuckles.
1 non-cast housing complete.

Vic, I think he (Jim/ Bult4mud) will be looking for the non-cast ones, as he wants to narrow it for use with his TJ. He's got a cast-boss one already available to him, but the cheapest/ easiest route to getting that one under his rig was to have the tubes cut/pressed out and have new tubes made and installed. Not exactly cheap OR easy.

BTW, Thank you again for our arrangement. I'll be sure to give you a hollar if I'm up that way.

you still have any 8.8's and do you have any pics and how much?
Also does the Exsploder front end have manual hubs? If so you have pics of that also and price?

you can email the pics to navonifamily@peoplepc.com :bigemo_harabe_net-01:

I have two 8.8 Exploder rear ends with drum brakes.

I have two D35 Exploder front ends. One with manual hubs, one w/ auto hubs.

I don't own a digital camera, but what's the point?
I don't mean this in a cocky way but, an axle looks like an axle. It's either covered in oil because of a leak, or it's not. A few pictures may still not show if an axle is bent.

The price is $100 ea.

nick_n_ii
May 24th, 2006, 09:04 PM
I was look mainly to see if there was any "work done on them" As for the front I'm looking to do a manual Hub convertion on my D30 and the Exsploder manuals and stub shafts are suppose to be able to do the trick. Basicly that is what Mile Marker based there hub kit on. I'll have to see if I can come up with the funds, but I'm interested in 1 of the 8.8 and the manual hub front, And I have a buddy that would most likely want the other 8.8, SO that would be $300 or would you shoot a deal on buying all 3, (just wondering)

Timberwolf
May 25th, 2006, 10:11 AM

Those manual Exploder hubs are $150 themselves.

nick_n_ii

this might seem to be a bumd question, but what all needs to be done to put the 8.8 in the YJ(spring under) might need to do this swap sooner than I was plaining to....

Timberwolf
June 2nd, 2006, 05:35 PM
If memory serves me, I believe the spring perches need to be moved out about a half inch on either side,
to put an 8.8 under a YJ. That's not much difference. Maybe force the springs together, line up the center pins and see what it looks like?

Both the Exploder and the YJ are spring under.

You'll need an Exploder driveshaft end flange to mate your shaft to the pinion yoke flange on the 8.8
I could throw that in for ya.

If I were remounting the spring perches, I'd want to do the slip-yoke eliminater/ cv driveshaft, at the same time.
That way, I'd only be setting the pinion angle/spring perches once.

nick_n_ii
June 2nd, 2006, 06:31 PM
I already have a SYE and new rear drive shaft, plus lifted 4" and plus 1" shackels. is there any way to use a YJ drive shaft with the 8.8?

Nvrenuf

Okay, new to working on vehicles. Need a 231 but your out. Will the 208's you talk about bolt up to a AW4 tranny??? Working on a 95 XJ.

Timberwolf
June 14th, 2006, 11:09 AM
OK, sorry it took awhile to get back to you.
Yes, the NP208 will bolt up to the AW4. It has the correct 6 bolt pattern and 23 spline input shaft.

What you do need to check, is the the distance the front input shaft sticks out past the six bolt mounting surface, on you current 231.
It could be 1.25" or 2.25". The NP208 is 2.25". If your's is only 1.25", you could use a rotator ring to make it work.
The side benefit would be the ability to rotate the T/C up flat!

Yes, that is correct. From what I've read the factory 205 adapter has a longer output shaft than the 203/208 adapters.
If I had a choice between a 435 with a 203/308 adapter or a 205, I'd choose the 203/208.
